Black cumin oil, sesame oil, linseed oil, sweet almond oil, and castor oil are all produced on the premises of GIE Targanine member cooperatives, in response to strong national and international demand which is due mainly to their virtues and benefits known throughout the world for centuries (Pharaohs/Egypt, etc.). Like all GIE products, these oils are subject to regular checks by the GIE Targanine quality team.
BLACK CUMIN OIL
Extracted from the seeds of black cumin, a plant native to the Mediterranean basin, its name comes from the Latin word Nigellus, meaning blackish (black color of black cumin seeds).
- Scientific name: Nigella Stavia
- Common name: Nigelle
- Arabic name: “Alhabba Sawdae” or “Habbat Albaraka” (Blessed seeds)
- Part used: Seeds
Black Cumin oil contains 0.45% of volatile oil and 33% of fatty oil. Known for its strong odor. Recommended for strengthening the immune system.
SWEET ALMOND OIL
Targanine sweet almond oil is extracted from the kernel of the fruit of the almond tree (Prunus dulcis) (Rosaceae family). It has a very rich composition. It contains fatty acids, including omegas 6 (linoleic acid) and 9 (oleic acid), as well as vitamins A and E, minerals and trace elements, phytosterols which improve microcirculation, and terpene alcohols which play a protective role. Sweet almond oil is therefore softening, emollient, and fortifying.
SESAME OIL
Targanine sesame oil is extracted from raw unroasted sesame seeds. It is characterized by a particular odor coming from the seeds. The color of the oil depends on the color of the seeds. Scientific name: sesamum indicum
Sesame oil is rich in saturated fatty acids (14.2g) “palmitic acid and stearic acid”, monounsaturated fatty acids (39.7g)” oleic acid and palmitic acid”. Oleic acid and palmitoleic acid”, polyunsaturated fatty acids (41.7g) Linoleic acid and alpha-linoleic acid”, vitamin E (1.4mg) and vitamin K (13.6 ug)
CASTOR OIL
Targanine castoroil is obtained from the seeds of the castor plant (Ricinus communis). It is a vegetable oil for external (non-food) use. Its color is pale yellow. Unlike all parts of the plant which are toxic (the root and ricinin are both poisonous), castor oil is non-toxic (the toxic substances in the plant are not soluble in the oil). Castor oil contains essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids.
